With 100W per channel the RN301 is powerful enough to drive a wide range of speakers in even the largest rooms. Details such as placing the power transformer close to the power amp circuit, for low signal loss, helps the R-N301 produce a powerful and dynamic sound.
The Yamaha Natural Sound concept
Based on Yamahas concept of "Natural Sound", the RN301 has been designed from the outset to sound evenly balanced and realistic. This comes about through painstaking attention to detail, including seemingly small points such as connecting the signal and power grounds at one point to eliminate mutual interference. This helps achieve a higher signal to noise ratio, so you hear more of the music and less distortion.
Stream music
Connect the Yamaha R-N301 to your home network by Ethernet cable or optional Wi-Fi (YWA-10 adapter required) and youll open up a whole world of streaming music potential. As the Yamaha is also DLNA enabled, its easy to link to many other components, such as NAS drives, and easily stream from your stored music library.
Internet radio and Spotify
In addition to streaming your own music, theres a massive choice of music available by using a music streaming service. Use vTuner to access thousands of internet radio stations from around the world. Alternatively, the R-N301 is also compatible with Pandora and Spotify apps, letting you choose from music libraries that are amongst the most comprehensive in the world.
AirPlay and a dedicated app
The R-N301 is also compatible with Apples AirPlay. Connect via your iOS or iTunes equipped device and stream your iTunes collection. Bringing such choice under effortless control is the Yamaha NP controller app. Compatible with iOS or Android, the app lets you source the music you want, and lets you change network and other settings.
High-resolution music and a radio receiver
With support for FLAC/WAV files at up to 192kHz/24 bit resolution (wired connection recommended), the R-N301 offers the potential for sound quality that greatly exceeds that offered by CD. But Yamaha hasnt forgotten about analogue sources. In addition to four line inputs, the R-N301 is also has an FM/AM radio. With a 40 preset station capacity, the R-N301 is just as convenient with radio as it is with streaming music.
